Liposomal Vitamin C

In the Rose Cottage kitchen - liposomal Vitamin C in process. I've been making this for about a year, and love this essay way to get an optimal daily dose.

Liposomal Vitamin C

Vitamin C powders with filtered water are  in the pitcher (Sodium ascorbate, Ascorbic Acid, Acerola and rose hip Bioflavenoids)

The Sunflower Lecithin is in the blender. The Lecithin went in the fridge for a bit, then was blended again, combined with the Vitamin C in the pitcher, then placed in the ultrasonic machine (jewelry cleaner) for ~ 90 minutes.

C powders and sunflower Lecithin

3 Tablespoons of the liposomal liquid will provide ~ 2500 mg of this highly absorbable Vitamin C! The liposomal form helps disperse Vitamin C effectively - encapsulating the vitamin C in the lipid (non-GMO Lecithin) allows it to merge with cells. It can also be used on the skin (on burns, anti-aging...)

Unlike most other mammals, Humans lack the liver enzyme necessarily for converting glucose to Vitamin C, so we need dietary sources on a daily basis. We share this inability with Primates, guinea pigs and fruit bats! Adult humans would likely produce 10-20 grams of vitamin C daily - more when ill  or under stress! Vitamin C uses the same transport mechanism as glucose.

Some benefits of vitamin C

  • Energy flow and electron exchange
  • Healthy mitochondria
  • antioxidant ['disease is oxidation']
  • detoxification
  • cell regeneration
  • immune support
  • collagen production (joints and skin)
  • necessary for the Krebs cycle and energy production

Thanks to Claudia Glow's lovely tutorial on making liposomal vitamin C, and Dr Linus Pauling, Dr Thomas Levy, Dr Jonathan Wright (and many others) for sharing information on how and why vitamin C is so important

(and - hallaloo - their reminders on how very important it is to get adequate Magnesium - which 'positively impacts every cell in your body! And nothing can substitute for it!'
Dr Levy's big 4: Magnesium, vitamin D-3, vitamin C and vitamin K.)
