Pumpkin Patch

 One of the delights of being a grandparent is family outings! As an only child, I'm at times amazed at having 9 grandkids, and it's a great to spend time with the different constellations.

Family Fun

We had so much fun visiting the Heiser farm pumpkin patch on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon! My daughter calls potions worth her 5 (just 2 still at home) FFF - Forced Family Fun! Her next oldest daughter and our little extra (half sister to two of her girls) joined us. 

Train ride

We rode two of several trains (3 trips through the tunnel on our first ride!), petted farm critters, took a hay ride to and from the Maze of maize and pumpkin patch; the kids had shave ice, and I got persimmons ... 

Hay ride

A good time was had by all, and we came home with pumpkins to carve! I like to cut off the top, scoop the seeds, add potting soil and plant a matching pansy!

    Nadya, what a great outing with FFF! I love the idea of planting a petunia in the scooped-out pumpkin, if I understood that correctly. My favorite Fall tradition is making soups and chili, and a yam swirl pound cake I've developed. Happy Fall!

      Yes - so fun!!
      Your gal soups and chill sounds so good - and the pound cake!
      I plant happy faced Pansies, which are cold hardy! i saw some at a nursery, years ago - often two toned orange with a nearly black face!
      When the pumpkin begins to get soft, i put the soil and pansy into a put, and compost the pumpkin!

(Opportunities flow) Is your address visible? Conscious Corners

 I'm looking forward to the February invitation to Resetting the space of your Living Altar,  which several friends from our Intentional Creativity community host. I'm also a bit nervous, as I've been invited on board to help facilitate the group this year! Red Thread A decade ago, our IC teacher  Shiloh  issued this invitation:   " I would love for you to finish your painting if you haven’t, and then to clean your studio. Reset your altars. In the beginning

 After 19 years in my little house across town, my daughter and son-in law are building me a Grannie Flat - Rose Cottage - in their back yard! Rose Cottage, facing West Last fall, we spent most available weekends downsizing and purging in preparation for and doing the move. During construction , I'm tucked in mere yards away, in a back nook in their home! Last summer I asked my new neighbor Jeff if he was intersted in buying my 100+ year old house - and his brother Jim  decided to be the next steward! He's already put on a new roof is upgrading it.! I'm borrowing a bed from my youngest grandson, which just fits in the space (that will become their laundry nook, after I'm in my new home).  My new room I washed the walls with a bit of salt and citrus Essential Oil in the water to clear predecessor Chi, and put cinnamon oil on the broom bristles when sweeping.  Both these tips come from Amanda Gibby Peters ( Simple Shui ).  I've long had an interest in Feng Shui , and
