Art Harvest

 One of the fall treats in Yamhill County (which is named for the local indigenous tribe) is our Art Harvest Studio tour, when a number of local Artists open their studios to guests for two weekends!

This weekend, I visited several on Saturday,  and Sunday, my friend Audrey and I visited:

• Britt Block (pastels)

• Charles Gluskoter (pottery - I now have two of his bowls plus a baking dish!) 

• Leo Sherrin (mixed media, masks - wow!!!) 

• Reetsie Fuller (etched gourds) 

Matson pottery (80s)

It is so delightful to see the spaces in which inspiration comes, and where art is created - sometimes, the whole home is a work of art! For a couple of the older artists, this is the last year they participate.

I"ve dreamed of being on the tour, especially after my Color of Woman teacher training (Intentional Creativity) certification in 2015. Before Lockdown, my art was in a couple of galleries, I hosted a gathering for PNW teachers, and we were just planning more events at Meca in 2020 ...

Next step is to get my paintings and easel from storage, put some on the walls, and set up the Atelier as an art space!

    Oh yes, that's sounds exciting!! By the way, those teapots are amazing. Some day I want to have a teapot collection. What is my dream or goal? I don't know. I have been taking an astrology class and am thinking about taking level two, but I found out in the class that my purpose is home and family and self-care not my workaholic tendencies. In fact, they are opposites on the chart (NNode and South). So I am thinking about what that would look like. Lifestyle blogging? I don't know.

      My son-in law's dad has a teapot collection! Mostly Fiesta ware in various colors! I have my mom's old blue Lipton teapot and a few others ...
      That N/S node dance is a funny pull, isn't it? I've got a late Virgo ascendant - so almost every planet is in opposite house from its sign!! With my 12th house sun, I tease in a Pisces mascaras as a Virgo ....

      One friend loves the imagery of the sabien symbols, and another, the messages from the prenatal solar and Lunar eclipse! (Obligation to the collective/ what's needed for personal balance) jan Spiller's Spiritual Astrology has a great overview of these

 One of the simplest things you can do to welcome good fortune is spending a few minutes on your entrance and front door periodically!  My Purple Door Stand on your front walk, and look at your wall, porch and entrance Is the path clear and safe? (Opportunities flow) Is your address visible? (Can fortune find you?)  Greenery - are trees, shrubs and potted plants overgrown or in poor shape?  (Overgrown: too 'full' to receive more - dead branches or plants feel un-cared for) Is there clutter or trash? Is the porchlight in good working order? Doorbell? Does your door need a wash, or fresh coat of paint? If there's a mat, is it in good shape? Note anything that needs repaired, trimmed cleared or replaced.  When you're out and about, notice entrances and doors that appeal! Conscious Corners

 I'm looking forward to the February invitation to Resetting the space of your Living Altar,  which several friends from our Intentional Creativity community host. I'm also a bit nervous, as I've been invited on board to help facilitate the group this year! Red Thread A decade ago, our IC teacher  Shiloh  issued this invitation:   " I would love for you to finish your painting if you haven’t, and then to clean your studio. Reset your altars. Make new room for the sprouts to come up through the ashes. You need space and time to see what’s coming up and what wants to be shared and prepared for...." In the beginning

 After 19 years in my little house across town, my daughter and son-in law are building me a Grannie Flat - Rose Cottage - in their back yard! Rose Cottage, facing West Last fall, we spent most available weekends downsizing and purging in preparation for and doing the move. During construction , I'm tucked in mere yards away, in a back nook in their home! Last summer I asked my new neighbor Jeff if he was intersted in buying my 100+ year old house - and his brother Jim  decided to be the next steward! He's already put on a new roof is upgrading it.! I'm borrowing a bed from my youngest grandson, which just fits in the space (that will become their laundry nook, after I'm in my new home).  My new room I washed the walls with a bit of salt and citrus Essential Oil in the water to clear predecessor Chi, and put cinnamon oil on the broom bristles when sweeping.  Both these tips come from Amanda Gibby Peters ( Simple Shui ).  I've long had an interest in Feng Shui , and
