Blog roll

 One of the joys of blogging is 'meeting' others through their blogs! One of our prompts on the October Ultimate Blog Challenge was to write about blogs you enjoy and follow. 

For a number of years, I joined the Friday 'Paint Party' blog roll, and had several favorite blogs i visited regularly! It was a treat seeing many styles, and I enjoyed the perspectives of those writing in other countries. 

Moon journal

I was disappointed when the group disbanded a few years back .... Checking an old link, I discovered some of my favorite bloggers are still going strong, and participate in current blog rolls prompting creative projects! (Here's one blog roll, if you enjoy art blogs!)

One is Valarie-Jael  (Germany) whose art and reflections I always enjoy. Want a virtual coffee companion? Dora / Peppy-Lady (Idaho) is a gem - and the Coffees usually on at her place! 

 Feng Shui and creating cozy spaces is another longtime interest, and blogs are a good way to gather inspiration and tips. 

I've known Gwynne Warner for over 30 years, and consulted her whilst Rose Cottage was being planned and built, then invited her over to do a blessing ritual - and share tea! Gwynne's 10,000 Blessings blog is an great source of inspiration and tips (and check out her Pinterest page!)

Back Door

I discovered Amanda Gibby Peters through her social media posts, and love her Simple Shui blog for tips on EASY ways to include tips that appeal for setting space and keeping the energy clear! Amanda is also on Pinterest

I've long been a fan of our own Jeanine Byers' posts, with her great tips on the Hygge / cozy side, and on awareness and self care!

    I absolutely love how share these blogs with such thoughtful introductions. It feels like stepping into a cozy cottage filled with lovely friends! The variety of blogs you're showcasing really reflects the warmth and charm of Rose Cottage. I'm excited to check out some of these gems (some I have been to many times - I agree with you!). Thanks for spreading the love and introducing us to these wonderful writers. Keep up the fantastic work—it’s such a joy to read your posts!

      When I read your prompt yesterday to share favorite blogs, I immediately thought of how fun the weekly art rolls were - and how it is like visiting friends!

    When I had a blog years ago, I loved blog rolls. It was such a great way to find like-minded blogs. Thanks for sharing your favourites. I shall check them out.

 One of the simplest things you can do to welcome good fortune is spending a few minutes on your entrance and front door periodically!  My Purple Door Stand on your front walk, and look at your wall, porch and entrance Is the path clear and safe? (Opportunities flow) Is your address visible? (Can fortune find you?)  Greenery - are trees, shrubs and potted plants overgrown or in poor shape?  (Overgrown: too 'full' to receive more - dead branches or plants feel un-cared for) Is there clutter or trash? Is the porchlight in good working order? Doorbell? Does your door need a wash, or fresh coat of paint? If there's a mat, is it in good shape? Note anything that needs repaired, trimmed cleared or replaced.  When you're out and about, notice entrances and doors that appeal! Kitchen cosmetics

 I've been intrigued with homemade concoctions and  Kitchen cosmetics since my teens, and it's fun to watch my granddaughters experimentation with their own formulas!  My mom was sensitive to chemicals and fragrances, so kept her routines simple - she washed her hair with baby shampoo, and used skim milk (from powder) to set her hair in pin curls ! Her mama Mary worked with herbs, so my mom was supportive when I tried recipes from my American Girl magazine (facial stream using mint leaves, facial masks with oatmeal and honey ...)  In my 20s, my botanist hubby and I grew herbs, and with guidance from our books, I steeped nettles, horsetails, lavendar,  Rosemary and chamomile, for hair rinse, made facial masks, and drank herbal tisanes.
