Liposomal Vitamin C

Image
In the Rose Cottage kitchen - liposomal Vitamin C in process. I've been making this for about a year, and love this essay way to get an optimal daily dose.  Liposomal Vitamin C Vitamin C powders with filtered water are  in the pitcher (Sodium ascorbate, Ascorbic Acid, Acerola and rose hip Bioflavenoids) The Sunflower Lecithin is in the blender. The Lecithin went in the fridge for a bit, then was blended again, combined with the Vitamin C in the pitcher, then placed in the ultrasonic machine (jewelry cleaner) for ~ 90 minutes.  C powders and sunflower Lecithin 3 Tablespoons of the liposomal liquid will provide ~ 2500 mg of this highly absorbable Vitamin C! The liposomal form helps disperse Vitamin C effectively - encapsulating the vitamin C in the lipid (non-GMO Lecithin) allows it to merge with cells. It can also be used on the skin (on burns, anti-aging...) Vitamin C cocktail  (3 TBSP) Unlike most other mammals, Humans lack the liver enzyme necessarily for converting glucose

Another round of Natto

Image
On the weekend I was able to get Natto at Market of Choice in Bend - I'm excited to try this commercial Natto from Portland! I also got organic dried soybeans from the bulk section.  Mischievous natto I find the taste quite mild, and reserved some to use for starter. I'm trying a new fermenting method - it's in a baking dish on my seed starting mat for 24 hours - then it will ferment another day in the fridge.  Natto fermenting on seed mat I streamed the beans, mixed in a spoonful of natto and spread them out in the baking dish. I laid an opened compostable sandwich bag on the surface of the beans, having poked holes with a toothpick. The whole dish was placed in a larger bag, and set on a potholder in the tray over the seed warming mat. I'm hopeful they will develop the nattokinase 'halos'! Here's a quick tutorial Natto (L) Steamed soy beans (on Rt) I'm excited to add more of this heart, gut and bone healthy food to my repertoire! Recent studies show t

Birthday Tidy

I know my Birthday Twin Gwynne would approve of this pre birthday tidy! (She takes our whole birth-month off for personal renewal!) Birthday flowers from Teresa  When you're working on dethugging, clearing clutter, reorganizing and tidying a space, do you go through an ugly duckling stage, where it looks worse rather than better?!  That's SO often happened to me! (And was my SOP as a kid - so disheartening!) A practice I've found helpful - especially  times I know I'm not likely to get back to the area for several days  (or weeks!)  - I factor in 20-30 minutes for a general regoup and tidy at the end!  This includes taking what I can out of the space (empty trash, and recycling,  take donations to the car...)  Redistributing things to their home, asking myself: - do I need/ want it? - Does it have a home? - Where would I look for it? And then - Consolidate things 'in process' to one wall or area, retaining the outtakes organization - Viola!  And finally,
